About

Fritz Barnes · BizProMedia

WordPress websites, care plans, and practical automation for small and mid-sized businesses, backed by 40+ years in IT and a deep appreciation for technology that actually works.

Where I Started

I have been in IT consulting since 1993. For most of those early years, my clients were large corporations, and the work was about decision support: building databases, structuring data, and creating reporting systems that helped organizations make sense of what they had.

The through-line of that work — turning raw information into something clear and useful — is the same thing I care about on the web today.

How the Web Came Into It

I registered my first domain name, FritzNet.com, in April 1999 and had a website online a couple of months later. At the time, the web still felt wide open. I was fascinated by the idea that a small business, an independent professional, or even one person with a good idea could publish, communicate, and build something useful online.

In 2001, before WordPress existed, I built my own simple content management system using PHP and MySQL. It allowed users to register, submit links and articles, store content in a database, and generate pages dynamically.

So yes, I like to joke that I invented WordPress.

I did not, unfortunately. But I was thinking about the same kinds of problems early: how to make websites easier to update, how to organize information, and how to let non-technical people manage content without touching code.

Those were side projects. I launched BizProMedia in 2012, which is when offering websites became a business service. By then, WordPress had matured, small businesses needed real help with their online presence, and I had the technical background to do the work properly.

What I Do Now

Today, BizProMedia focuses on three connected areas:

WordPress Websites

I build and rebuild websites for businesses that need something professional, clear, mobile-friendly, and manageable.

Website Care

Ongoing hosting, maintenance, updates, backups, monitoring, and support, so the site stays healthy and you’re not left alone with technical headaches.

Custom Functionality & Automation

API connections, custom plugin features, workflow automation, Gravity Forms, ecommerce integrations, and carefully applied AI that fits the way your business actually operates.

One Person, Not an Agency Maze

When you work with BizProMedia, you work directly with me.

That matters.

There is no sales team handing you off to an account manager, who then hands you off to a developer, who then has to interpret what you meant three conversations ago. I learn the details, make the recommendations, do the technical work, and stay involved.

For many businesses, that is exactly what they need: one experienced person who understands the website, the hosting, the tools, and the real-world business process behind it.

Practical, Honest Website Help

I enjoy helping businesses make better use of their online presence. Sometimes that means building a new website. Sometimes it means improving an existing one. Sometimes it means setting up a process that saves an hour every week. Sometimes it means explaining what is actually going on in plain English so a business owner can make a good decision.

I am not trying to make every project bigger than it needs to be. I would rather build something useful, maintainable, and appropriate for the business.

That has always been the center of my work: practical technology, clearly explained, built around real business needs.
